Menopause is more than just hot-flashes!
The experiences that occur during the menopausal phase of life can feel isolating and confusing. Women often struggle with insomnia, depression, anxiety, skin changes and weight gain. I partner with various medical professionals including Psychiatry, Chinese Medicine and acupuncture, hormone replacement therapy and bio-identical hormone therapy. These modalities offer a variety of approaches to address the physical symptoms of peri-menopause and post-menopause. What if treatment of symptoms didn't have to be "one size fits all"?
Women often describe a sense of invisibility and irrelevance as their focus changes from early adulthood tasks of starting a career and forming relationships to working with integrating decades of lived experience. Sometimes working with a therapist who is closer in age can be helpful. Having a consistent time and a safe place where we deeply discuss these changes along with their implications can empower us in this time of transition. What if menopausal years could be an experience of mastery?
Depression, fear, and anxiety are some of the most common and uncomfortable emotions that we experience at some point in our lives. These symptoms are more apt to arise during times of uncertainty and change. Through counseling and treatment, it's possible to discover strength, perspective, and joy that was once present in your life.
Many of us experience symptoms associated with painful and traumatic circumstances. Frequently we feel anxious, frightened, and hopeless when we have not thoroughly processed a traumatic situation. Counseling can help you work with these symptoms and guide you through the experience of grief and the process of healing.
Sometimes it's not viable to physically come into an office for sessions. A great option is to take advantage of therapy on line from your own safe and familiar environment. Contact me for more information at GretchenKahre@downtowneriecounseling.com
Individual sessions are $150. Clients are welcome to pay using most credit and debit cards as well as HSA cards. While I am out of network with insurance companies and I do not process Medicare, a Superbill will be provided for you to submit to your insurance for reimbursement. Clients are responsible to understand their own insurance policies. Clients in financial need are welcome to inquire about sliding scale.
Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.
• You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.
• Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.
• If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good FaithEstimate, you can dispute the bill.
• Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call the Colorado Division of Insurance at 303-894-7490 or 1-800-930-3745.
