Meet Gretchen
Gretchen Kahre is a Licensed Professional Counselor working in the field of mental health since 1990. In 1989 Gretchen received her MA in Contemplative Psychotherapy from Naropa University. She's been Licensed as a Professional Counselor in the state of Colorado since 1994.
Gretchen is a third generation Colorado native and has lived in Erie since 2005. She is delights in offering her expertise in mental health counseling to the Erie Community. When out of the office, Gretchen enjoys group classes at the Erie Community Center, kayaking, cycling and camping.
Passion
Gretchen's passion is to work with people in transition. She specializes in counseling women 40s and older who are in the midst of peri-menopause, post-menopause and all of the life changes associated with this dynamic period of time. Along with bodily changes, women are often additionally navigating caring for aging parents, adult sibling relationships, career changes and emancipating children.
Treatment Focus
My focus is to help clients deepen, heal and recognize their inner strengths. I achieve this by providing a neutral safe space where I help you put your thoughts and feelings into words. While listening to your concerns, I partner with you to customize an appropriate treatment plan. I often find that we actually have all of the tools we need; we just don't recognize them.
